Vipassana, which means to see things as they really are, is one of India's most ancient techniques of meditation. It was rediscovered by Gautama Buddha more than 2500 years ago and was taught by him as a universal Art of Meditation. Vipassana is a way of self-transformation through self-observation. It focuses on the deep interconnection between mind, emotions, memories, breathing and body. Through the direct experience of natural flow, life becomes characterized by increased awareness and peace.

Some true testimonies of previous participants at Samaya's Ashram

"The last week has been one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. Transformational, inspirational, so much fun and completely spontaneous!" Laine Griffiths from Australia (Layla)

"I have been searching all my life for the timelessness and serenity of a place like Samaya Ashram. Here, I experienced so much joy and found true family. Through meditation, play, spontaneity and celebration I learned to step out of my comfort zone and back to the person I truly am n my heart. I am filled with tears of gratitude to Prem Samaya for providing such a special and sacred place to heal, to grow, to express and release." Emily Spiller from Canada (Monkey Ra)

"For me the retreat was an amazing experience. Everything fits. It was the perfect group size in which i could felt very comfortable. I felt the love between the people. I completely forgot the outside world and I was completely there in the moment. The only thing i didn't like is that it was too short. For me we reached a point where it started to get interesting. I learned a lot about myself and I got some new perspectives of life. I will never forget this time and I'll keep something with me. I had a great time with great people. I found new friends."
Stefan Cremers from Germany (John)

"I did not expect this sort of special time. I've never done any kind of meditation so in the beginning of the retreat I found quite hard to meditate, but I kept trying to concentrate and loose myself, for example my shyness and fearfulness... and in a moment I realized I enjoyed meditation. I felt peace and calm I've never felt. It was awesome." Kim Ju Hyun from Korea (Yoshi)
